It takes about a 15 seconds to create an account, and maybe about a minute to setup the DNS zone, depending on how complex it is. Finn can do it almost instantly. Then, 1 or 2 minutes to log-into the Registar and point the Domain to Totus DNSs. Give or take, in five minutes you have Totus DNSs serving your domain, and with the initial free credits, you get a couple of months for free, depending on usage and configuration. Oh, Yes! Our panel requires no cloud expertise; no need to be an engineer. Everything is intuitive and explained. Our AI assistant Finn will do everything for you. Including advanced settings that would take hours in AWS or Google.

First and foremost, the computers will send you a few automated emails, early warnings. When your balance becomes negative, we will leave the service running even if you start to build a negative balance. We will try to contact you personally by email or phone (not automatic but a real person) and if after all that we can not communicate with you and sort out the balance, we will manually disable the services. Not delete, just disable. It will be a human making the decision; we know mistakes happens, phones get lost and emails get marked as spam, etc. So our promise is that we will try hard to contact you before shutting down anything. All said, if you are a frequent delinquent on payments, we will likely close your account.

All our services have https json APIs accessible via api.totus.cloud (check the documentation here) and we also provide some clients in major programming languages at github. Particularly for the DNS apis, the GET requests (view data) are free of charge and the POST/PUT request (to change configuration) are paid to control potential spam.

We have servers spread around the planet in multiple data centers and service providers (this is very important for risk management). We continue to add servers frequently. We follow multiple security standards like OWASP, CISA, CIS, NIST CSF, etc. In particular for the DNS service, servers work on read-only local copies of the DNS settings. We can not disclose details but we can say we have active monitoring (Host Based Intrusion Detection Systems), DDOS protection at datacenter level and all servers have semi-automatic lockdowns on suspicious activity. We use high standards of encryption, all secrets are managed and frequently rotates, etc. We are incorporating external security audits. Finally, the whole Totus platform is designed to fail in stages (or steps), so ultimately and particularly for the DNS, the core service always works. Finally, there is active monitoring of the platform (soon to be made partially public.).

We don't charge based on DNS queries. So high traffic won't spike your bill. Unlike all our competitors. For extreme volumes, let's say if you are in the top-100 website for a particular country, we might need to charge you more as we aim to provide the cheapest possible service. Because our margins are tight we can easily end up running at a loss with your account if happen to be extremely popular.
